Monday, November 16th, 2009

Losing data can lead to the utmost inconvenience, and can even be detrimental to businesses, as it may lead to a loss in revenue. Protecting your electronically saved data is thus very important. If it does happen that your computer crashes or sustains significant damage, you might have to opt for professional hard drive recovery to save what information you can. It is very important not to attempt this yourself, as you might cause irreparable damage and lose the data forever.

Intratec Data Recovery has the necessary knowledge, experience and state of the art equipment to successfully do hard drive recovery. This includes a certified clean room – the only environment in which a hard drive should be opened for recovery to prevent further damage and to ensure the best possible recovery. Intratec Data Recovery is a leading data recovery service provider and has offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban.

There are several reasons why you may need to appoint the services of South Africa’s leading data recovery specialists. It can corrupt files, damage the partition of your hard drive or physically damage your computer and its components. The damage may be caused maliciously by a virus or by other malware. Damage can be minimized if you do regular backups, but you may be forced to call in data recovery specialists. One look at the testimonials on this website is all you need to make up your mind whom to call.

South African Data Recovery Company

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

Having a hard drive crash out on you or losing important data from one can be a very upsetting experience, especially when you or your business totally relies on the computer for everyday work. There are innumerable reasons why this could take place, but when it does you will be pleased to know that there is a South African data Recovery Company called Intratec on hand to give you assistance.

The cost and time it takes to recover the data on your hard drive is going to depend on why it crashed or why the data was lost. Data File Recovery Experts | Lost Data

Data Recovery Experts

Most of us at some time or another have either accidentally lost an important file or had one damaged in some way that prevents us from opening it. Twenty years ago, unless you were a computer expert, that would have been catastrophic. But things have changed. If you really know what you’re doing, it is sometimes possible to recover this type of data loss yourself. However, that is not the situation with the majority of people. You can, however, make the job easier for the data recovery experts.

How do you do that? By making sure that you make regular backups of your data files, either on a daily basis for the files you have been working on, or on a weekly basis, or better still by sticking to a backup strategy. If you do make regular backups it may be possible for you to recover the lost data yourself without even calling in the data recovery experts such as ourselves.

Database Recovery Specialists | RAID configurations

Monday, April 27th, 2009

Most large companies rely entirely upon databases today – more so than the majority of us realize. Databases have become so much a vital part of our lives that we take them for granted. Databases are used every day by:

  • Schools and Unive

    rsities in their Marks Databases

  • Police for profiles of criminals, DNA and fingerprints
  • Libraries, chain stores, estate agents, banks, brokers, air traffic control
  • Blogs
  • On line stores

The list is endless. Databases have become such a part of our daily lives that for one to fail can mean financial disaster for an organization if the data is not recovered rapidly. Quick and efficient database recovery is essential, and there are professionals like Intratec who can do this. Organizations should make regular backups of their databases or have the data stored in such a way that it can be recovered easily, by using RAID configurations, for example.

Click of Death

Monday, April 27th, 2009

IBM DeskStar hard drives have an disturbing reputation for serious mechanical failure – the most notorious is known as the DeskStar “Click of Death”. You can recognize the Click-of-Death by a regular scratching noise interrupted by a click sound tha

t comes from the hard drive. Click of Death problems are among the most onerous to recover data from, and we urgently recommend that you speak to one of our recovery technicians as soon as you suspect that your drive may be about to fail. The most common cause of failure is the hard drive’s read/write heads not lining up with the data stored on the hard drive. This causes internal contamination, which leads to the ‘Click of Death’ sound. You will recognize a pending failure either by getting the clicking sound or by a message on boot up. If you suspect you may have an IBM hard drive failure you should contact us straight away

Ways of recovering data

Monday, April 27th, 2009

The different ways of recovering data employed when we attempt to recover your lost data always depend on what the actual damage is and what has caused it. If the hard drive is still working it could be a relatively simple recovery method that we employ, but if, on the other hand, we have to open up your hard drive for some reason, that will mean making use of our clean room to avoid any contamination. In either of these circumstances the first thing that you must do is to get us to carry out a diagnosis of the problem. Only then will Intratec be able to give you an estimate of what recovery will cost you and how long it may take.

Data Recovery on Maxtor drives

Monday, April 27th, 2009

Maxtor hard drives, like all other hard drives, intermittently fail, and Maxtor data recovery is just one of our fortes. Hard drives can fail for plenty of reasons, and this can sometimes be due to read/write head failure or service track corruption. This sort of damage is usually because of inadequate cooling when the hard drive is allowed to reach a temperature that is well above its optional working temperature. When this type of failure happens you will frequently hear an ominous clicking sound coming from the hard drive with the wrong drive size being displayed when booting up. Such a failure can usually be recovered. If you do experience a clicking sound coming from a Maxtor hard drive, be sure to turn off your computer straight away and contact Intratec.
