Iomega data recovery

Iomega began as an IBM facility in the Arizona desert in 1980, and have been producing data storage devices since then. The company engineers started researching crash-proof technology as a means of avoiding data loss. In 1982 they introduced the Iomega Alpha-10 Bernoulli hard drive as the first magnetic storage product to offer built in crash-protection, and have been expanding their selection of products ever since. Because of this the frequency of Iomega data recovery problems is not so great. However, their hard drives do sometimes fail.

One common problem with Iomega devices is a sudden failure of the hard drive. From time to time the Iomega driver may be inaccessible, but continue to function physically, or the operating system recognises the hard drive in the enclosure, but a fail error still appears. Also the operating system can recognise the hard drive but asks you to format it. In many situations the operating system will fail to recognise the hard drive when connected via a USB, or the enclosure fails to respond on power up when switched on. If you suspect a system failure with an Iomega product, turn it off and remove it from the system immediately. The sooner you power down the drive, the better your chances of recovering lost data, after our evaluation and diagnosis.
