Computer forensics is a branch of forensic science pertaining to legal evidence found in computers and digital storage mediums. Computer forensics is also known as digital forensics. The goal of computer forensics is to explain the current state of

The term digital device can include a computer system, a storage medium (such as a hard disk or CD-ROM), an electronic document (e.g. an email message or JPEG image) or even a sequence of packets moving over a computer network.

The explanation can be as straightforward as “what information is here?” or as detailed as “what is the sequence of events responsible for the present situation?” Intratec is equipped to carry out Forensic data analysis and support.

To put it very basically, computer forensics is the gathering of information from a computer in order to determine certain facts. Typically the information gathered would not be seen by the average computer user. It could, for example, consist of de

Special tools and computer programs are used for this process and the job has to be carried out by a skilled expert who is specially trained for this kind of operation. The information gleaned from such an operation could be used by a fraud squad, for example, and may have to be used in evidence in a court of law. Forensic examination of a computer has to be carried out by a licensed investigator.
