Packing your hard drive for transit
Thursday, February 26th, 2009If you have to remove a hard drive from a PC to send it to us, please follow our packing instructions very carefully. Before you start removing the drive from the computer earth yourself by touching the computer box or chassis. If you can, place the hard drive in an anti-static bag. A hard drive must be very carefully protected – use bubble wrap and plenty of it before placing the drive in a sturdy box. Allow at least 5cms of bubble wrap on all sides of the hard drive and don’t use polystyrene chips. If you still happen to have the original wrapping, use it. After sealing the box, make sure that it is clearly marked “Fragile”.
