A RAID 6 recovery is not child’s play, because RAID arrays depend on multiple disks that are read and written simultaneously and data is spread out across the disks through striping, mirroring or parity.  Normally, a RAID hard disk failure is not a problem and a new hard disk simply has to be slotted into the failed disk’s space to restore parity and have the RAID re-written.  However, consecutive disk failures have been known to happen, especially where identical disks fail at a similar age and if your RAID array fails before you can replace the redundant disk.

Act Promptly

However, if you act promptly after the disk failure and a RAID 6 recovery is started, much, if not all, of your data can be recovered.  However, it is important to act at once, before data can be overwritten, files deleted or changed or data corruption can take place.  Although it is extremely unlikely that two RAID drives fail at once, you have to back up your data regularly or shut down the RAID when a drive has failed and only start it up again once the new disk has been fitted.
