Most of us have accidentally deleted an important document that we have been working on for a significant time, and usually when that happens we are both totally embarrassed and feel extremely foolish. But it happens – most of the time it’s not our fault. Data loss can be caused by a variety of reasons other than accidental deletion. It can happen because of a power dip or surge, it can happen because of a virus, there may be component failure in your computer, or there could even be physical damage due to some outside source. Either way, in most cases data recovery is possible. In fact, it is because data loss has become more and more of a problem, that data recovery companies such as this one have evolved.

There are one or two steps that you can take yourself to minimize the risk of data loss. The first and obvious one is to make frequent backups of your data – not only that, if you use a program like MS Word as your word processor, go into the saving options in your tools menu and set up the program to automatically save and make backups every, say, two minutes. This will ensure that there is always a backup of the document you are working on at the time. Data recovery is frequently necessary following a violent thunderstorm, and we recommend that computers be switched off in such circumstances. If you do find yourself in the unfortunate position of needing a data recovery expert to assist you, give us a call.
