Hard Drive recovery

Hard drives (HDDs) are the main storage facility in PCs and laptops, and will remain so until they are replaced by SSDs (solid state drives), which will not be for some years to come. Data is stored on HDDs magnetically, and the HDD by its very nature is a precise and somewhat delicate piece of machinery. It is very susceptible to damage that can be caused by a number of means, including power outages and surges, head crashes, physical damage caused by impact or environmental conditions, or by virus attack. When a hard drive crashes, for whatever reason, you will undoubtedly lose some data.

It’s not possible to put a true value on the data that anyone loses – it can be a couple of hours’ work or may even be a lifetime’s memories. That is why hard drive recovery is so important.

In order to minimise the amount of data loss that you may suffer, we highly recommend that you make backups of your data at regular intervals, certainly no less often than weekly. Be vigilant about your computer. Keep a look out for any early signs of hard drive failure. These may materialize as funny noises coming from the computer or more and more frequent disk error messages on your screen. Hard drive recovery will be all the easier if you catch it before it happens – rather like having a vaccination.

One other precaution that you must take is to run an anti-virus program and keep it up-to-date with the latest patterns. Finally, if you need someone to carry out hard drive recovery then make sure you contact a reputable company, such as ourselves.
